Maria Rubio-Cabañez is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) and the Sociology Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) within the ERC project DIGINEQ. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Carlos III University of Madrid. Her research focuses primarily on the impact of environmental factors, such as outdoor spaces and air pollution, on children’s development. She is particularly interested in how these environmental influences vary as a function of children’s socioeconomic status, which is shaped in part by spatial organization. In essence, her work seeks to understand how disparities in environmental exposures contribute to divergent developmental outcomes among children from different SES backgrounds
