Health, Mortality and Causes of Death

Description

The increase in life expectancy represents an important challenge in terms of changes in the health status of the population and, especially, in the coexistence of chronic diseases and comorbidities. In this research line, we analyse advances in longevity and transformations in the health, morbidity and mortality patterns of the population. Special interest goes out to the study of recent trends in the health of the older population as it is a key component for forecasting future trends in mortality. Another fundamental aspect of our research is the analysis of comorbidity patterns and multiple causes of death in a context of socioeconomic and gender inequalities.
