Educational qualifications: Degree in Development (Universidad de la República de Uruguay)
Research Theme/s:

Camila Montiel holds a Master's degree in Demography and Population Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Development from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. Since 2019, she has been involved in projects related to the study of intra-regional migration in Latin America, with a particular focus on the social inclusion of the migrant population and the use of digital traces to quantify international migration.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in Demography (UAB-CED) within the project 'A Demographic Perspective on Generational and Life Course Inequalities' (GENLIFE) (Ref.: PID2023-153252OB-I00) and a Doctoral Fellowship from the National Agency for Research and Innovation of Uruguay (Ref.: POS_EXT_2023_2_180206). She also participates in two research groups: Uruguayan CSIC R&D Group 'Human Mobility and Digital Demography' and 'Comparative Analysis of International Migration and Displacement in the Americas'
