IUSSP online training: Machine learning tools for the analysis of migration trajectories

The IUSSP online training on «Machine Learning Tools for the Analysis of Migration Trajectories» will take place at CED on June 13th and 15th.
The instructors for the training are Sergi Vidal, CED researcher and Chair of the IUSSP Panel on Lifetime Migration, and Danilo Bolano from Bocconi University’s Carlo F. Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics. The online training is organized by the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) Scientific Panel on Lifetime Migration.
The training consists of two sessions. The first session provides an introduction to the toolbox for sequence analysis. In the second session, a machine learning approach, specifically feature selection models, will be introduced. This approach enables the evaluation of complex associations between previous migration trajectories and individual life outcomes.
