Huifen Fang obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University majoring in urban and rural planning. Through plenty of social practices, she developed an interest in social research. Then, she received training in human geography at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (supervised by the Nanjing Institute of Geography & Limnology Chinese Academy of Sciences) and focused on studying Chinese fertility issues in her master’s thesis. Now, she continues her academic road as a Ph.D. student in CED and is willing to explore more interesting demographic research topics, including but not limited to fertility, household, aging, and relative planning policy, etc. Her research to date has concentrated on examining household transitions and changes in individual living arrangements within the context of Asian societies.
