Daniel Perea holds a BA in Urban Studies from Leiden University (cum laude) and an MSc in Demography and Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. In 2025 he completed a traineeship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Demography at the Centre d’Estudis Demográfics (CED) within the project “From lifestyle behaviours to ageing: Current mortality challenges in low-mortality settings (BEHAGEING)” funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación. His research interests include mortality and geospatial analysis, health inequalities, and mortality related to behavioural risk factors (with a specific focus on suicide, self-harm, and drug overdose mortality).
