Abstract
Since early 2023, a new program on Computational Social Sciences has been launched at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). The program aims to facilitate the use of data and computation for the social sciences and digital humanities, and advance computational-intensive research in these scientific domains. This talk will describe this new program and its context: the evolution of data analysis in social sciences, the recent use of computational machine-learning methods, and the potential use of AI and simulations for future social science research.
