Riccardo Valente is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His research covers a range of different topics anchored in a conceptual and empirical framework aiming at analyzing how social disorganization might influence public health, mental health and residential mobility. Ever since his doctoral dissertation in 2016 for the University of Barcelona, he has coordinated an EU-funded project under the H2020 program (MARGIN. Tackle Insecurity in Marginalized Areas) and participated in several national and international projects. His work has been published in top journals including Cities, Social Science & Medicine, or European Urban and Regional Studies, and he realized research stays at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil, 2017-2018), and the Stanford University (USA, 2022). He is currently part of the research team of the LIFELONGMOVE project (2023-2027) funded by the ERC-Consolidator Grant call and coordinated by Prof. Sergi Vidal.
