Octavio Nicolas Bramajo has earned a PhD in Demography (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), B.Sc. in Sociology (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina) and completed a Postgraduate Specialization Diploma and a M.Sc. in Social Demography (Universidad Nacional de Luján, Argentina). Before joining CED, he took part in the European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD) in the 2019-2020, sponsored by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR), earning a second M.A in Demography from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). While his interests are diverse, most of them are shaped by his previous experience in the National Administration for Social Security of Argentina: Mortality, Morbidity, Ageing, Pension Systems, Social Inequalities in Health and Social Epidemiology. His dissertation, that has been mentored by Iñaki Permanyer, “New perspectives on health inequalities in Spain”, analyzes heterogeneities and disparities of non-fatal diseases prevalence across Spain.
