María Andrée López Gómez is a social epidemiologist and currently a Beatriu de Pinós Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Health Inequalities group at the Centre d´Estudis Demogràfics, and a research collaborator at the Ocean Frontier Institute at Memorial University in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. María Andrée´s work centers on the links between work and health. Her research assesses how work-related factors impact workers´ health, safety and well-being through the analysis of both working conditions at work, employment conditions through the life course and policy changes. She has experience on design and implementation of workplace organizational programs, mixed-methods analysis and has led two study projects: one analysing organizational aspects of work and psychosocial health factors in patient-care workers and a study on sustainable and equitable employment in the aquaculture sector.  She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Center for Work, Health and Well-being working on Total Worker Health® approaches to improve the working conditions in patient-care workers and long distance bus drivers. Her second postdoctoral work was at the Sociology Department and at the Ocean Frontier Institute at Memorial University (MUN) in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. At MUN, she investigated sustainable employment and livelihoods in the aquaculture and small-scale fishing sector.
