Andy is an anthropologist with the "Demography and Population Studies" research group at Universidad Externado de Colombia and holds a Master's degree in Educational Sciences. He has conducted research focused on Indigenous and migrant populations, incorporating new technologies, statistical techniques, and innovative data sources for the analysis of demographic phenomena. His study, "Tiempos de vida. Fecundidad de los pueblos indígenas de Colombia en el período intercensal 2005–2018" (2022), was recognized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). Currently, he is a research fellow at the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED) in the project “Migraciones y estrategias de reproducción demográfica y social en España: género, origen y clase (MIGRA-GOC)”, and a PhD candidate in Demography at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), under the supervision of Andreu Domingo and Jordi Bayona.
