Amalia Gómez-Casillas was awarded her PhD in Demography from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Since then, she has developed a balanced career equally focused on academic research, knowledge transfer and dissemination activities. She currently develops her research agenda while coordinating the Barcelona Four Seasons School of Demography and the Communication and Dissemination area at the Explorador Social at the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED-Centre for Demographic Studies). As a researcher, she has focused her interest on societal challenges such as gender inequalities and violence, as well as social responses to climate change. She has published her contributions in top journals like Journal of Public Health and the Journal of Population and Environment. As a lecturer, in the last four years, she has been teaching Post-Graduate courses on Gender Equality Policies for Public Administration Officers, teaching Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Indicators. She has also been a lecturer at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra while working as a postdoctoral researcher. As a coordinator, she has worked in collaboration with civil society associations, universities, national and European Union governmental agents among other key stakeholders.
