Educational qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Geography (Universitat de Barcelona)
Research Theme/s:
BA in Geography from the University of Barcelona (1998) and postgraduate in Methods and
Techniques for the Study of Population from CED (1999). Between 1999 and 2005 he was
research assistant in various CED projects, under the supervision of Dr. Anna Cabré and Dr.
Juan Antonio Módenes. During the period 2001-2005 he was awarded with an FPI predoctoral
grant (training of research personnel) from the Ministry of Science and Technology, which
allowed him to begin his Doctorate studies in Demography, obtaining the Diploma of Advanced
Studies (DEA) in 2003. Also, during the period 2003-2005 he collaborates as a teaching
assistant, with Dr. Juan Antonio Módenes, in the course Demography for the BA in Geography
at the UAB. In 2002, he conducted a research stay at the Minnesota Population Center (MPC),
University of Minnesota, collaborating on the IPUMS-International (Integrated Public Use
Microdata Series) project under the supervision of Dr. Steven Ruggles, Dr. Matthew Sobek, and
Dr. Robert McCaa. From 2005 to 2024 he has worked as research coordinator at the Institut
Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), a research centre in the fields of international
relations, international development and security, public policies and comparative politics.
Under the direction of Dr. Jacint Jordana (IBEI-UPF), he carried out tasks such as managing the
predoctoral, postdoctoral and tenure-track calls for applications; managing call for projects
(pre-award + post-award), scholarships and grants (European Commission, Ministry of Science
and Innovation, AGAUR, others); organization and coordination of international conferences,
seminars, workshops and summer schools; support to the faculty, among other activities.
During this period, he has taken specialized courses such as Management of European R&D
Projects from the AGAUR, Marie Curie Actions for R&D Managers from the CRUE-University of
Zaragoza, or Practical tools for project management from the Professional Association of
Political Scientists and Sociologists of Catalonia, as well as attending numerous project
management and the EURAXESS network meetings. On his return to the CED, he is in charge of
research and project management.
